Endodontics is a branch of dental science that relates to the morphology, physiology and pathology of dental pulp as well as the contusion of the tooth. The goal of endodontic therapy is to maintain and restore the health of the tissues around the root. To be successful in endodontic treatments, the dentist must be aware of the basic sciences such as normal pulp biology, anatomy and morphology of tooth and root, etiology, diagnosis and prevention of pulpal and periapical diseases, and can treat pulp diseases and injuries, as well as diagnose diseases of periapical area and then treat them.
