Welcoming Ceremony for International Students of Hormozgan University of Medical Sciences (HUMS)
The ceremony took place in the presence of Chancellor, Vice-chancellor for Education, Dean of the School of Medicine, Director of International Affairs and some other university authorities in Farabi Hall of Payambar Azam Educational, Research and Therapeutic Complex on 1st August, 2023.
“In line with the government’s policies for international cooperation, 21 foreign students are pursuing their education in medicine” said Dr. Javdan, Chancellor of Hormozgan University of Medical Sciences.
Dr. Javdan added that these students will pass educational courses in both Persian and English during their education. Also, attracting international students is one the indicators of university development; therefore we are trying to move university more toward the internationalization.
He also pointed out that Hormozgan University of Medical Sciences is one of the universities with good conditions regarding the quality of medical education and the presence of these students will be a good opportunity for internationalization of Hormozgan universities.
The facilities provided to these students are the same as the other students’ studying at this university and we didn’t give special privileges to them, He declared.
Dr. Javdan asserted that all foreign students are studying at their own expenses at Hormozgan University of Medical Sciences, and their tuition, which is based on the actual cost per semester, will be spent for their educational expenses and other relevant cost.
The Chancellor pointed out that these students had passed their first semester remote and online and entered Hormozgan province to peruse their education for the second semester.
