The First International Council of Region 5
In order to measure and review the performance of the region's universities in the international arena, the first International Council was held This council was held on Monday, 8th Khordad 1404 in Shiraz with the coordination and follow-up of the Vice President of Education of Hormozgan University of Medical Sciences, Dr. Ehsan Ramazanian-Nik, and in the presence of Dr. Amir Khani, Deputy Minister for International Affairs of the Ministry of Health, and a group of international experts with the main goal of accurately assessing the level of international interactions of universities, the number of research collaborations, student and faculty exchanges, as well as scientific and research achievements at the global level. Dr. Ramazanian stated that one of the reasons for the success of the International Faculty was the unwavering support of the esteemed university president, and if these successes continue, they will be fruitful at a higher level.

Dr. Aghdas Dehghani, Dean of the International Faculty, representing Hormozgan University of Medical Sciences was present at this meeting and was praised by the Vice President for International Affairs for presenting the performance of Hormozgan University of Medical Sciences in 1403.The strengths and weaknesses of each university were analyzed in this council.
This assessment helps educators, policymakers, and university administrators to identify their strengths and weaknesses and provide better plans for scientific cooperation.
In this council, the following criteria were discussed:
Number of international agreements, student and teacher exchanges, international publication of articles, international rankings, collaborative research projects, access to international scientific resources, cultural and international diversity among students and staff, and international cultural and social activities.
These criteria help universities to identify their strengths and weaknesses and, as a result, to design and implement programs to improve their international performance. Also, these data help policymakers and educational administrators to make better decisions to improve the quality and strengthen the international standing of their universities.
