Hormozgan University of Medical Sciences Showcases Expertise at International Private/Public Hospitals Congress & Exhibition

The Chancellor of Hormozgan University of Medical Sciences (HUMS), while attending the university's booth at the international broadcasting conference hall, highlighted that two hospitals in Hormozgan Province, Qeshm Payambar Azam hospital and Ume Leila private hospital have successfully obtained the IPD (International Patient Department) license, allowing them to cater to international patients. The move is expected to boost Iran's healthcare sector and put it on the global map.

Dr. Gholam Ali Javadan described Qeshm Payambar Azam Hospital as a significant asset in the field of International Patient Department (IPD) services. He emphasized that Qeshm Island holds substantial potential for the country’s tourism sector, noting that it has been recognized as the only Geopark in the Middle East by UNESCO for many years. Dr. Javadan stated that this unique designation can be leveraged to enhance health tourism development in the region.

Dr. Javadan pointed out that Qeshm Hospital, functioning as a university hospital, has recently acquired an IPD license. He announced that international patients can now travel to Qeshm Island without the need for a visa to access a range of medical services. These services include cataract surgery, blepharoplasty, childbirth options—both natural and cesarean section—as well as hemorrhoid surgery and various other outpatient treatments.

He considered the presence of one of the Bandar Abbas private hospitals in the University’ booth as a sign of inter-departmental collaboration in the treatment and healthcare sector. He further noted that this medical center has also recently succeeded in obtaining an IPD license and is set to showcase its services and accomplishments to visitors over the three days of the exhibition.

Dr. Javadan remarked that being a coastal province with strong ties to the Persian Gulf countries presents a significant opportunity for local hospitals and medical centers to engage in the International Patient Department (IPD) sector. He emphasized that this strategic positioning allows for enhanced collaboration and the potential to attract patients from neighboring nations, ultimately benefiting the region's healthcare landscape.

The Chancellor of Hormozgan University of Medical Sciences emphasized the significance of the upcoming Third International Private/Public Hospitals Congress & Exhibition, highlighting it as a key event in the realms of medical services and medical tourism. He noted that this exhibition stands out as one of the most important global gatherings in its field, featuring specialized programs that address various dimensions of healthcare innovation and collaboration.

The Third International Private/Public Hospitals Congress & Exhibition will take place from August 7th to 9th at Tehran's International Broadcast Conference Hall, attracting participation from over 35 countries around the globe. This significant scientific event aims to foster collaboration and innovation in the healthcare sector, showcasing advancements in medical services and medical tourism.
