Insight into the Third International Hospital and Medical Centers Exhibition in Iran

In a pivotal meeting with the Chancellor of Hormozgan University of Medical Sciences, the Secretary General of the Health Tourism Development Center of Islamic Countries and the head of the Health Tourism Association of Tehran province emphasized the significance of the upcoming Third International Private/Public Hospitals Congress & Exhibition. They highlighted the event as a premier international platform showcasing cutting-edge medical services and advancements in medical tourism, underscoring its unparalleled scale and specialized program offerings that position it as a global leader in the field.

According to the public relations report from Hormozgan University of Medical Sciences, Dr. Majid Zengoui highlighted the success of specialized online meetings held over the past two months involving over 30 countries. These sessions focused on showcasing countries' capabilities in the realms of health and health tourism through diverse educational workshops. The interactive nature of these programs attracted participants from around the globe, reinforcing the global reach and impact of the initiatives undertaken.

Dr. Zangoui announced that key face-to-face programs are set to take place from August 7 to 9, providing a crucial platform for medical service activists and health tourism companies from Iran and around the globe. During these three days, ambassadors and representatives from various countries will have the opportunity to explore Iran's medical treatment capacities and engage in negotiations to enhance international collaboration in healthcare.

He provided an overview of the upcoming event, highlighting that the first day will feature specialized panels and educational workshops. He noted that the official ceremony is scheduled for the second day, taking place from 10:00 to 12:00, followed by a two-hour educational workshop as part of a specialized program.

The Secretary General of the Health Tourism Development Center of Islamic Countries revealed that the upcoming conference will feature a program titled "Doctor as Brand" in the Khaje Nasir Hall. The session will focus on the branding of doctors in both domestic and international contexts, exploring the concept's meaning and practical applications.

According to Dr. Zangoui, the conference will be followed by two specialized meetings. The first, 'Health Tech Talk', will showcase cutting-edge technologies in the treatment field, providing attendees with a glimpse into the latest advancements in medical innovation. The second meeting, which will feature CEOs of private hospitals and their board members, will focus on optimizing Iran's medical capacities. The presence of hospital executives in this program is expected to be particularly valuable, as it will enable the development of a targeted strategy for introducing Iran's medical services to the international market.

He added that Iran's health tourism sector is lagging behind due to a lack of professional efforts in promoting the country's medical capacities abroad. He attributed this to past failures and a lack of understanding about the capabilities of other countries and how to utilize international networks to market Iranian services. He further noted that government administrative departments could not formulate a correct policy for this issue, with strategies being developed from headquarters without considering the needs of the global market. As a result, it is challenging to achieve success in the field, as strategies are not properly defined and are not updated to reflect changing international requirements.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the head of the Health Tourism Association of Tehran Province highlighted the competitive edge held by various Islamic countries in the health tourism sector. He noted that nations such as Turkey, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, and Tunisia are excelling in this area. However, he emphasized that Iran needs to enhance its awareness and investment in related resources and technical knowledge to fully leverage its unique capacities in health tourism.
